My drawings have evolved into their present form over many years. At first I used to draw shell shapes, cones and sea horses with flowing lines connecting them together. Then one day the brickwork happened and I haven't looked back since.
The brick work in the background connected all the shapes together and somehow gave the drawings motion. A kind of static animation, and over the years the brickwork has slowly taken over. The shells were too distracting, and losing them let the drawings come completely alive. I still find that my eyes won't keep still when I look at a Quantum Drawing. Is it a mirror? I noticed one day that when I thought of questions while I looked at a drawing, my eyes jumped to certain parts of the image. The same place where a day or two before, I had seen a bird. Suddenly the bird snapped into focus and hopped up when I thought of one possible answer, it hopped down when I thought of another possibility. ... Everytime I look at a Quantum Drawing I ask to be shown where my "yes" is - Then I ask to be shown where my "No" is. Now I think of a question and watch where my eyes jump to. Over the years, I have given away hundreds of Quantum Drawings as gifts for birthdays, anniversaries and other events. The owners of these drawings tell me they get a lot out of them, seeing different images and messages every day. This has encouraged me to set up this web site... to show the world what Quantum Drawings are about, and to make them available to all those seeking answers... More soon, from Hoon... (August 2008) If you have seen something in your drawing then please tell me about it by clicking here Here's what author Anthony Peake's blog has to say about my Quantum Drawings Barry has developed a startlingly original aid to developing personal insights. He calls this 'Quantum Drawing'. It works in a similar way to those images that were popular a few years ago whereby you looked at a series of dots and swirls of colour and suddenly a 3D image leaped out at you. Barry's quantum drawings just look like a swirl of lines and boxes but as one looks at the picture images begin to manifest themselves. One asks a question then waits for the images to furnish an answer. To me it is similar to a visual version of the I Ching.
